Here in New York City, we’re experiencing our first real Spring day! It’s 71º and sunny, sunny, sunny! This got me thinking about one of my favorite activities—attending summer music festivals!
Music
Festivals are a great way to discover new music (beyond the television) in a fun, outdoor setting.
Thankfully, many mainstream festivals
have added stages for children and their families. Other than awesome music, these festivals are full of fun
activities like: School of Rock
Jam Tent, Tattooz, Photo Shootz, Hip Hop Workshop, African Dance and Drum
Workshop, and Break Dancing Workshops!
The two biggest upcoming festivals are Kidzapalooza (part of
Lollapalooza) and Austin Kiddie Limits (part of Austin City Limits). While the LBB won't be a part of these festivals, we hope you'll check them out and discover great new kids artists!
They have announced their 2010 dates and locations!
Kidzapalooza: August
6-8, 2010 at Grant Park in
Chicago, IL
Austin Kiddie Limits:
October
8-10, 2010 at Zilker Park in
Austin, TX
I’m anxiously waiting for them to announce their 2010 line-up. You can follow both festivals on Twitter for updates:
