Thanks so much to those who commented with great summer holiday ideas!
We love taking advantage of the awesome weather and coming up with fun ways to spend time together!
Here are some of the responses we received. Thanks so much to all who participated - we will be sending the following people autographed postcards from Laurie!
Kim Hakimian:
Nothing better in the summer than playing with water. My kids love water guns I however am not a fan of traditional water guns and it's hard to find squirts made of things other than guns, so I picked up some squirt bottles like the ones the barber uses, I marked them with the word water so not to be mistaken for chemicals. They are so much easier for my 4&2 yr olds to spray unlike the one finger trigger kind, great for motor skills and the best part is you fill them and it takes a long time to run out of water. And the fine mist is soo refreshing and mom doesn't mind a squirt on a hot day.
Jim Wissman:
We always seem to play the hide and seek game with the Ice Cream Man. In our neighborhood, we can hear him out back on our deck, but that just means he is on any of about 5 streets. Trying to figure out where he is and when he will make it to our street has become like a game.
Joanne:
We don't venture too far, we have a firepit in our yard, we roast hotdogs, and make smores, the kids love it, and it's not too far from a bathroom. We try to have a variety of smores, we use hershey kisses in a variety of flavors, and use coconut covered marshmallows for a change.
Stacy Stewart:
We are going to start a new tradition this summer: SMORES UNDER THE STARS! We are going to camp right in our courtyard and look up at the beautiful star-lit night sky and make smores and memories!
Maureen:
