Party Day! DVD Release

Hello friends!  We return to blog land with excellent news: Our new DVD, Party Day!, will hit the shelves (both virtual and real) tomorrow.  To celebrate, we wanted you to check out some of the new videos in the DVD! To see the teaser, click here.

We're Back (AND With Something Cool!)

We're back :)

We've been away for a few weeks, but with good reason!  Our entire team has been working REALLY hard on something new and special - and we're almost ready to announce it.

We're working with our friends at Seventh Generation on something everyone can enjoy. For a sneak peak of what is to come, check out this video:

New Shows!

We have a bunch of new shows coming up this Summer/Fall!  Some are in celebration of our upcoming DVD release - you can pick up the new DVD, Party Day! at the merch table at any of the DVD Release Concerts - before they are available to the general public!

This coming Fall, we will be changing our concert theme to Animal Party - we can't wait for you to see the fun tricks we have up our sleeves for this one.

Lullaby CD

We get a lot of requests from fans for a lullaby CD.  As of now, we're working on some other great things, so a lullaby CD isn't in the very close future.  However, we thought we would compile a list of lullaby-CD worthy songs that you can make yourself!

See the bottom of this post for info on making your own CD.

 

If you click on any song, it will link to the song on the iTunes store in case you don't have a CD!

Make a CD using iTunes!

1) Load all the songs you are interested in into iTunes.

2) Create a playlist by clicking the bottom left corner's "+" - name the playlist ("Laurie Berkner Lullaby") by double clicking on it.

3) Click on "Music" and drag all your desired songs onto the playlist name

4) When you've finished dragging, arrange your songs within the playlist (we suggest putting the songs with *'s at the beginning and end)

5) Once you're satisfied with the order (ask your kids for help!), insert a blank CD and click "Burn Disk" at the bottom right of your playlist page.  (See photo above)

6) Burn the CD, label it, and enjoy!  Make sure you recycle old jewel cases for your new CD!

Springtime Musical Nightlight

This Thursday (4/7) at 8pm EST, Your Springtime Musical Nightlight will air on our website!

Join Laurie and special guest (and drummer!) Bobby as they play games, tell stories, and sing songs for a fun pre-bedtime musical webcast.

Can't watch when it airs?  Don't worry!  The webcast will stay on our site, and you can watch it any time you wish - AND, watch any of our past webcasts on the same page!

Providence Show

We had a wonderful time in Providence, RI this past weekend.  We received some of your great suggestions on Facebook for things to do in Providence - thank you so much for your great ideas, it made us feel very welcome!

It was a bit cold outside, but we had a nice time walking around and checking out some of the sights.  Bobby went to college in Providence, so he had a fun time revisiting some of his old haunts and telling everyone about how things have changed.

The show was very fun, and we loved looking at all the cool party outfits and animals you brought! 

Thanks so much for coming to the show, and we hope to see those of you who weren't able to make it at another show!

New Media

As you may have heard, we are in the process of creating a brand new website!

In preparation for the Spring launch, we've been updating our YouTube, Flickr, and Mobile App to make information more accessible and fun!

Today, we created a new way to watch videos on our YouTube page - our videos are now organized in Playlists by the following categories:

You can also check out our Flickr page, which will be continuously updated to add new photos, also arranged by categories!

I want to say a huge Thank You to everybody who wrote in to say happy birthday. When I opened up the page today I was truly blown away by all of your warm thoughts and wishes. What a wonderful gift! It has been so fun to do our Birthday Party concerts and celebrate the kids who come to our shows. Now I get to enjoy the feeling of being celebrated by you. Thanks again, I'm lucky to have you all as fans.

Greening the Office: Almost There!

We are almost there!

Yesterday, we tallied up our "green points" by taking a survey that gives points for every earth-friendly step we take in running the office.  Our goal is to reach "Gold Certification" - a total of 200 "green points".

Some things that give us these points are:

• Changing our lightbulbs to CFL's
• Installing sink aerators to use less water
• Reusing materials as craft supplies, etc (see past blogs about this)
• Recycling everything we can't reuse
• Purchasing "carbon credits" to offset our carbon use when traveling and shipping items
• Using certified "green vendors" for all of our merchandise (Did you know our t-shirts are 100% Organic and Fair Trade, our shaky eggs are made from a  sustainable fast-regrowth wood, and our posters are printed on 100% recycled paper using soy ink?)
• Printing double-sided
• Installing a filtered water system to cut our bottled water usage
• And much more!

After the assessment, we were thrilled to see we've reached almost 400 points!  We can't wait to make it official - our Green Consultant, Michele, is busy finishing up the paperwork (which is mostly happening online to reduce the use of ACTUAL paper).

We hope to be certified as a Green Company in the next month or so!
